45 or 90 minute appointments to meet the needs of you and your family.
I believe in providing a safe space to all. I value and respect all individuals. All religious beliefs, orientations, political views, and family structures are accepted, and welcome in my office. My role is to be a safe person who will help you negotiate the intricacies of family and individual life.
I believe in meeting individuals and families where they are. I do so using evidence based practices and skills. My approach has been influenced in the years of practice and training in:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for Children (DBT-C)
Family Systems Therapy (FST)
Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
I have a masters and PhD in psychology. I graduated from UNC and completed my practical training at Duke Medical Center, Wake County Public Schools, a private practice post-doc, and practiced in a local private practice for 6 years.
I have been intensively trained in DBT, DBT-C, and CBT.
After completing my training I have practiced in local private practice since 2015.
When I am not in the office, you may see me around town with my family, walking my dog, running, or spending time with friends and family.
I like to think of myself as a "real" person, and I do a lot of the things others people might do. I love traveling, seeing family, playing board games, watching sports, doing Crossfit, hiking, day dreaming about running another marathon, trying local coffee shops, and starting a new book.
I live in Raleigh with my husband of 10 years, our 7 year old twins, and therapy dog. If you see me in public, you are welcome to stop and say "hi" or act like we've never met, whatever feels right to you!
