I am currently on a waitlist for new individual and family clients.
45 or 90 minute appointments to meet the needs of you and your family.
I believe in providing a safe space to all. I value and respect all individuals. All religious beliefs, orientations, political views, and family structures are accepted, and welcome in my office. My role is to be a safe person who will help you negotiate the intricacies of family and individual life.
I believe in meeting individuals and families where they are. I do so using evidence based practices and skills. My approach has been influenced in the years of practice and training in:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for Children (DBT-C)
Family Systems Therapy (FST)
Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
I have a masters and PhD in psychology. I graduated from UNC and completed my practical training at Duke Medical Center, Wake County Public Schools, a private practice post-doc, and practiced in a local private practice for 6 years.
I have been intensively trained in DBT, DBT-C, and CBT.
After completing my training I have practiced in local private practice since 2015.
When I am not in the office, you may see me around town with my family, walking my dog, running, or spending time with friends and family.
I like to think of myself as a "real" person, and I do a lot of the things others people might do. I love traveling, seeing family, playing board games, watching sports, doing Crossfit, hiking, day dreaming about running another marathon, trying local coffee shops, and starting a new book.
I live in Raleigh with my husband of 13 years, our 10 year old twins, and therapy dog. If you see me in public, you are welcome to stop and say "hi" or act like we've never met, whatever feels right to you!

See below for more info. And here are the highlights
I have spent more than 10 years providing care to a variety of clients. My training began at Boston College where I earned a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work, with a focus in global practice. This unique experience allowed me to gain skills to meet the needs of those with a variety of backgrounds and needs.
During my professional journey I have served individual clients as well as families. I have provided care to those in the US as well as abroad. One of my placements took me to a refugee camp in Ethiopia where I began to see the need for trauma work. Since then I have also worked with individuals experiencing homelessness, veterans, youth in foster care, substance use, and those in various phases of parenthood.
My years of experience have poised me to care for those adjusting to a variety of traumas in life, including those from childhood, medical procedures, and various life adjustments. I understand that trauma can come in the form of one major life event or from a tough phase in life. While I spent almost 10 years providing care in a hospital, I decided to leave the medical setting in 2021. I enjoy working with individuals in private practice and helping them learn the skills to live the lives they'd like to lead.
I am a Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Facilitator.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time outside with my husband and our daughters (2 and 4), reading, doing word puzzles, practicing yoga, running, and rediscovering familiar places on my new bike.
I am excited to be back in the Lake Norman area, the place where I grew up and have deep family roots.
While my two little children keep me fairly busy when I am not at work, I love learning new things about the caring profession. I am currently pursuing a certification as a Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Facilitator.
I tend to provide care to people who are professionals such as professors, lawyers, medical care providers or parents. Through my accepting and validating approach I help people learn about their strengths and challenges so they can remove barriers and live life in a way that feels good to them. Clients may learn how to advocate for them selves, set limits, and reach goals such as: improving self esteem, negotiate pay, change careers, re-enter the work force, take time for themselves, and improve self-care. Reasons people may want to work with me include: feeling stressed, overwhelmed, frustrated in relationships, consider life changes, adjusting to life changes such as parenting, divorce, caring for parents, new job role or history of trauma. I am accepting new clients.
